Default Strano Sway Bars

I have an '01 WS6 and I'm looking to get better sway bars. Strano offers two sets: the hollow 35/22mm set (487 lbs/in front; 228 lbs/in rear) and the hallow front/adjustable rear 35/22mm set (487 lbs/in front; 200, 230, 275 lbs/in rear). Any recommendations?

i would just get the normal hallow bars. there is a thread that was posted not long ago of how much the member on here loves how the car handles with the new bars. takes corners so much better. i would love to buy those bars.

i dont think the adjustable is necessary. i guess it depends on what your use of the car is. msotly street?

Yea I read that thread which is actually what led me to strano. I found both sets when I went to their website. Trying to decide whether or not the extra $70 is worth it.

I mostly use it for street, every once in a while drag.

I have the solid front and rear 35mm/22mm set from UMI. Swaybars were probably one of the best suspension mods I did. Corners great. Hollow bars are mostly for weight savings. Comparing the two, you will have to go larger on the hollow to get the same exact results as the solid. The weight savings is negligible. I've always preferred solid. I'd go with the solid 35/22 non-adj.

If you think you will be utilizing the adjustments then order those, i.e. to change for the strip and again for the street or track. Else just get the the non-adjustable hollow Stranos, which is what I did, as I did not see myself having the need and desire to constantly adjust them for various use cases.

Since your 2nd use is drag, you might find some benefit at the stiffest setting -- but that is IF you are going to make the adjustment each-time you goto the strip.

That's a good point... having adjust-ability is useless if you never change it. I would probably change them- it's only two bolts so it's not that time consuming. I believe both the non-adjustable and adjustable rear bars are hollow.

I've read a lot of good things regarding the strano hollow sway bars. So much so that I ordered a set. They still sit in the shop (in the box) after ordering 2 months ago. Maybe this weekend I can find the time to put them on.

If you have or planning to purchase wider tires in the rear, I would get the adjustable rear bar so you could switch it to a firmer setting.

Strano has also said that his adjustable rear bar on the softest setting is a tad stiffer than his non-adjustable rear bar.

I do plan on wider tires eventually. Good point. I didn't even think of that.

The middle setting is as stiff as the not adjustable bar.. according to his website.

I ordered the set with the adjustable rear bar. Can't wait to feel the difference!

Sam is top notch. Everything on my car I have bought from him. Car handles like it's on rails.

Anyone know what grade bolts the rear and front end links are on Strano sways? I have the Prothane end links for SS sways on my RS which are only Grade 5 and both rear end links sheered off this year, but Strano's (Hellwig-made) have held strong. I may end up upgrading them on the RS too...

Hellwig says they are Grade 8 front, Grade 5 rear for the Strano hollows.

I would think for drag racing just unhooking the front would be more beneficial than an adjustable one.

That's not the issue. He's talking about a rear bar you are talking about disconnecting a front one. Completely different things and reasons.

That's what I get for trying to LS1Tech while at work. Yeah, don't disconnect the rear one
