The PAB is the large bracket the entire caliper/pad assembly slides into and bolts to.

I recall someone saying there is an issue or issues with running the vette PAB and or the PADS. some kind of obstuction, or different size bolts for the PAB 14mm vs 12mm... Is anyone clear on this? I guess that's really what I'm looking for, tried searching, but I couldn't find it again.

I think trackbird metioned on another board somewhere though that the Bob Bishop kit used C5 PAB's and pads. This would provide more pad surface, and wipe the surface that's rusting no?

No, the metal bracket that you must remove to remove the rotors. The steel frame (those clips are attached to it) is the PAB. It's the frame that cages in the rotors.

Did that help?

The Corvette PAB uses 14mm bolts (larger than the F-body), that's correct. This is why they don't interchange.

The Bob Bishop kit (now called Track Brackets, bob sold the design and is no longer involved with them) uses all C5 parts, PAB's, calipers, hoses, rotors, pads, etc. Those pads are profiled slightly different than the F-body pads to work with the larger diameter rotor as you stated.

I hope that helps.

I get it now, thanks.

I've always wondered why the front rotors have that and the rears dont?
I guess it has to do with strength or stress relief/redistribution?

You went from a 12" stock rotor to a roughly 13" C5 rotor (the C5 rotors aren't exactly 13", but close to that), and you're still using the pads for the 12" rotor. Obviously those pads aren't going to adequately cover the entire surface of the 13" rotor, so you'll have a ring along the inside that isn't swept by the pad, and this ring will rust.
Is this a bad thing?

It's the same "cage" that holds the brake pads. You remove two bolts and remove the PAB in order to change the rear rotors. Same thing.
