Anytime you can shift the engine rearward, in a front engine, rear wheel drive car, you will improve the cornering ability of the car, through better balance, as well as increase accelerative traction, again, by moving weight toward the rear wheels.

Having said that, in a 4th gen f-body, the engine is already up against the firewall, as well as buried under the cowl. Major modifications to the structure of the car would be required, as well as putting up with more headaches when working on the engine, due to the cramped engine bay. And since you'd be moving the transmission rearward also, a shorter driveshaft and shorter torque arm would be required.
