Default What is this clunk! Video inside

So ever since I purchased this car it has made a clunk noise from the rear of the car going over bumps, slow or fast it doesn't matter. Since i purchased it have installed a MWC 9" rear end, new lca, new panhard, checked the shocks & rubber. Car still has this clunk. I decided to install sound deadener inside of the car. So when i had the carpet all out i pushed on that back with it jacked up by the rear end and wow the noise is loud with the carpet removed. I still can't figure out what it is. Since then I have put the carpet all back in. Its a little quieter now because of the sound deadener but still there. What do you guys think? I do have he exhaust and fuel tank out now...i will try it again today to see if its still there.

I was going to guess torque arm bolts, but the noise was there before and after you installed the 9"?

correct, that why i am so stumped. Its almost like where the shocks bolt to the car, the metal is so thin it makes the noise there. but idk .

anybody else had a clunk like this over bumps? The shocks mount to the body through some real thin metal, its not reinforced at all. I wonder if its just to thin and is making a popping noise.

I removed the spare and I removed the jack, I have a clean trunk so it has to be suspension related I guess. I ordered shocks and springs . My shocks are blown so that might be my problem. It gets annoying driving around hearing that crap everyday

I had the same problem with my previous trans am but it ended up being the stock Lca. Replaced them with poly and it went away. Not the case with this car

I'm pretty sure my springs are stock, rubber insulators up top look weathered . I wonder if it would be the springs making the noise?
