Default Better than stock replacement for 2000 TA?

Hey guys, so I need to replace my shocks/springs for my 2000 Trans-Am. Right now I have about 150k miles and factory shocks/springs. The suspension badly needs replacing, and I thought I might as well upgrade while I'm at it. I'm looking at:

http://www.slponline.com/product/700...on-System.html

Will this suspension package be OK for daily driving? Is it comparable to 1LE so far as handling, or should I buy that from GM directly? It does NOT lower the car, correct? Thanks!

Sorry, I guess I should add that it's a 2000 Transam, auto, pretty much full bolt-ons, SFCs, and it's my daily driver, though I do take it to the track occasionally. Thanks again!

Do you want to maintain stock ride height?

Yes I do, the roads aren't so great where I live so I don't want to go lower.

When you say track, are you talking about the 1/4 or a roadcourse or autocross or what?

If daily driving is your primary use, with an occasional trip to the dragstrip, and you don't intend to lower the car, then keep your stock springs and get a set of Bilstein or Koni shocks. Brand new good quality shocks will make a huge difference.

Thanks for the reply!

Stock springs don't get "worn out" like shocks? Also, what shocks would you recommend, and where's the best place to get them? Thanks again!

You won't come close to 1LE handling without konis or a higher end shock (they come with Koni DA's from the factory).
If you want a good replacement look into some bilstiens like those and keep the stock springs like already stated. If the springs are not sagging then they are likely fine.
Also worn out shocks work pretty well for drag racing if thats what you care about.
Either of these would be a good choice for budget:

Most OEM springs are designed to have an "infinite life cycle". Even if they sag a little, they can still do their job. Sagging is more of a problem with a car sitting unevenly than it is going down the road.

I would only replace them if:
1. They are sagging significantly
2. You want to lower the car more than .75"
3. You want a stiffer spring for handling purposes
