I'll give this a bump for an absolutely amazing write-up.
I'm pretty set on running BMR springs, but I can't decide between the Koni yellow's or the STR.T's.
How do these perform for anyone with BMR or Strano springs with the STR.T's.
I plan on doing a little AX and RR and am debating on whether I should spend the money on Koni yellows or if these will suffice for now.

Shocks are the foundation to a good handling setup.

You must use the plastic "isolator" on the bottom. The spring has a helical lower end coil design which the isolator accounts for and wors with. The bare metal Koni "cup" is only flat.

I also reused the stock bottom isolator rings. I put them in the deep freeze for a while and they popped into the Koni supplied lower seat without any problem.
Great write up here! It was very helpful for me. It amazes me that Koni does not include any instructions with their shocks.

Greedy b@stards. Oh well ....I'm doing STR.ts next week on the TA. I've done billstiens a few years ago ... so it's no big deal. But that does suck about all the missing pics in threads.

Is it advisable at all to use some sort of hose for an insulator instead of the lower insulator from moog (or other brand)? Also...KYB makes an upper shock mount insulator. Anyone tried those to see if they fit better?

Great write up! I'm looking to do a similiar thing, but using bilsteins. That being said, I know I need to use the lower perch supplied in the K80927 kit. Your picture shows the box containing the isolator and perch, but parts listings never show or descibe both being in the box. Can anyone confirm recent purchases include the rubber/plastic isolator and the perch? I'm trying to save a little money and order this all on my own instead of a pre-sorted isolator and mount kit.
Thank you,
-Matt

When I did my STR.T / strano install I used MONROE 904962 from rock auto. Used the Koni steel seat and then the Monroe rubber isolator, fit like a glove and no sanding like everyone says you have to do with the moog. The Monroe came with both pieces, and was cheaper than moog, and still a well known reputable company in the suspension world, so win win win in my book.

You mean the metal cups that Koni supplies with the shocks, that slide over the shock body and sit on the perch? Is this just on one shock or both? Definitely seems like a defect if you can't assemble the parts they provided. Mine slid on without any issues.
