Default Looking for a different stance

I have a 1998 TA WS6 that's been lowered 1.5" on God only knows what springs and KYB rear shocks.

I just bought the car back, and since my specialties lie in the area of making motors turn instead of messing with suspension, I thought I'd get some opinions.

I am looking for that aggressive "face down, *** up look" in an attempt to help fit more tire in the rear to help put the procharger HP to the ground.

I Already know I want to run QA1 front coil overs and either SA or DA QA1 rears. But I have no clue where to turn to for springs to accompany the rear shocks. Car is 50/50 street/strip, I don't care about ride quality and money isn't an issue.

I was considering turning back to stock springs for the rear? Anything to give me more clearance for a taller and wider rear tire with the BFH mod and fenders rolled. Here is a picture of about what I'm looking for, with maybe a little more rear tire:

Any advice is appreciated in advance! Thanks guys!

Don't the QA1 coilovers come with springs? If they do, they'll offer several different spring rates. That is going to be determined by a lot of things, like vehicle weight, what the vehicle will be used for, driving style, tire selection, etc.

I think he is talking about running their front coil overs and just their rear shock with a different spring.

If you are going for as much rear height as possible the stock spring will give you the most, but I dont think it will aid you with weight transfer like you want. I was running qa1's sa with an eibach spring for a while, and with an 18"wheel and a 35series tire it was 26.75" from floor to bottom of the fender lip. It had a semi raked look since i dropped the front down to 26" from fender lip to floor on the same size wheel with the qa1 sa coilover.

I'm not sure if there is a sponsor that sells a stock height spring with different spring rates though. Im sure one of them will chime in if its an option or you could contact UMI or BMR to see if its an option if you have something specific in mind.

If the OP wants to run a coilover in the rear, he could adjust his ride height however he'd like too.

^the Qa1's are little odd about that, though maybe it was just me. Not sure how the vikings are but I had to choke the spring up over halfway on the main body to get it to what I consider to be pretty low still. Getting it up to stock ride height may be a bit difficult

Probably going with a viking (same as qa1 more or less) set of coilovers front and back would be your best option. Plus I'm sure one of our vendors would get you a slamming deal.

I have the Viking coilovers, and I can make the car as high as I want to (way higher than stock ride height), or drop it to the ground.

4 corner coil-over conversion is exactly what is needed here. Full ride height adjustability, variable valving, no worries about the dreaded f-body lean.

The Viking shocks are the best bang for the buck by far, but there are other options out there. MWC has all the best options on Afco, Strange, and Viking shocks packages. QA1 is out there too, but quality has been an issue and pricing is no better.

Give us a call and we can get you taken care of on the right shocks for your needs and work within your budget.

Thanks for the information guys. I was thinking my best shot was stock springs with QA1 shocks in the rear. But if quality has been an issue with them, maybe I'll consider otherwise. I only really have experience with Strange, but that's on my strip only '74 Vega and I didn't really want to use those on a street app.

ssvert99 - I will definitely look into the vikings and I appreciate the advice!!

FWIW: The vikings will give you everything the qa1's would with better quality at around the same price point. A lot of users here with strip/street and street/strip cars seem to love them.
