Default motor mounts

I'm getting ready to put my 418 in my car and I was thinking about changing the motor mounts. I will be running a fast 102 so I don't want to raise the motor up. What should I use, or do most people just run the factory ones?

Go with some Prothane Poly motor motor mounts. I also like my poly transmission mount, the drive train is so much more stable. Some people complain of vibration from poly mounts but I haven't had any problems.

Do the spohn tubular mounts really raise the engine that much?

If you want solid, we offer aluminum motor mounts machined from a solid block of aluminum that fit just like factory!

MWC offers high quality poly mounts from Prothane and Energy Suspension. This is the best way to get a firm mount without going full solid.

We also have solid mounts that are a direct replacement for the oem mounts that are very affordable at 95.00 http://midwestchassis.com/solid-motor-mounts.html

Actually just yesterday I had a customer swapping his tubular mounts for our solid mounts if that speaks for the product.

That's fair, I always like the looks of the spohn ones and it looked like they added some clearance for headers, but I guess I'll go a different route when the time comes.

Do, or can your solid billet mounts cause any cracks/stress risers to the mounting points on the unibody in a daily street driven car, or is it just more NVH than the poly mounts??

I just installed the spohn tubular solid motor mounts on my f-body and I don't recommend them. Too much vibration at high rpms and when slowing letting the clutch out.

So you installed a solid piece of metal to replace something rubber and didn't think they'd vibrate? You're going to get NVH regardless of what solid mount you use.

I've never experienced this issue, or heard negative feedback in those regards. It is slightly more NVH than poly.
