Question front LCA question

I am putting my front control arms back on my question is....

the lower control arm has an adjustment at each bolt connection. Is there a sweet spot that I can set them to that will allow me to drive my car to get an alignment without destroying my tires?

I am doing the driver side as I type this. I was think just to put them both in the center, is there a better way?

As long as your alignment shop isnt too far away (less than 10 miles? medium speed road), you should be good putting them where ever. The center is a good bet.

I normally recommend people to measure the center of their balljoints before removing them to be able to get them back close. Or marking the bolt locations on the k-member. If you have nothing to reference, it will be very difficult to find a "sweet spot". If you have an angle finder, you can put it on the wheel and get it where there is little to no camber angle on each side and lock it down there. It will be close enough to get you to the alignment shop

This might sound pretty shady but I just put mine back on and tightened them where they were. Of course I used a jack to push up on the LCA until the weight was off of the jack and then tightened and torqued them down. The steering wheel was off by about 30 degrees and drove ok. The alignment shop I used was able to get it aligned and everything was back to normal (even the steering wheel). I really didn't worry that much about where the LCA bolts were at the time of install.
