Default Issues installing front c6 pads in caliper

I got new c6 calipers 2 piston from akebono, the ones that dont say corvette, and they came with the x shaped caliper anti rattle spring. It snaps inside the caliper. Im trying to use the hawk hps 5.0 247b.575 pads. They have a lip or guide on the top of the pad, assuming to ride along the spring. When using rhe spring, i have to completely smash down on the spring and is a struggle. I finally got one caliper loaded, but the spring is all bent and crooked. Also, when i slide the abudment brackete, rather tham the bracket easily sliding, it is tough and the pads pivot on that spring. So the pads dont slide. When i remove the spring, all is well and the bracket slides nice. What happens if i dont use the rattle spring in the caliper?

here is an image identical to the x shaped clips i have as well as the pads

After browsing on corvette forum found that c6 pads dont use the caliper x shaped clip, just the 2 on each end of the pad. The x shaped are used on c5 calipers only.nnsince c5 c6 pads are interchangable, they are included in the pack.
