Default Budget Manual Rack ?

I've been doing some research I'm currently building my 01 F-body and would like do a manual rack. I will be using a stock K-member I know I will need to purchase a conversion mount. However, for the actual mount can I use a Stock pinto rack from a parts store or does it have to be an aftermarket pinto rack?

Sorry If this has been discussed before I tried searching but not coming up with much info besides buying a 600 dollar unit.

Default

Simple answer, No. The rack kit we use is a custom built rack that is extended to meet the wider track width and offset of the 4th gen. In order for the steering shaft to be properly positioned, it needs to be slightly offset to the driver's side. This will bring the passenger side up short and require a longer custom made adjuster to thread onto the tie rod end. Can it be done? Technically yes. Will it require a lot of custom fab work and fitting. Yes. In the end, the only "off the shelf" component you would be able to use would be the rack itself
