Default Steering rack ratios, fe2, f41

So, I just replaced my steering rack on my formula with one from the rack doctor. I don't have the original rpo codes, so I did a bit of googling and went with the fe2.
I seemed to have failed.
Install went smooth. Turning the wheel lock to lock I get almost 3 full rotations. The old rack was 2-1/4 turns lock to lock.

Am I correct in assuming that the fe2 and f41 differ in ratio, not the angle of the steering shaft input?
there seems to be a lot of wrong info out there!

someone have the info on rack differences?

They differ in angle and ratio. You were correct in getting fe2. Maybe they sent you the wrong one thinking that they were sending the correct one? Maybe a core return mix up since they look the same to the un trained eye.

F41 were for v6 models without the y87 package. . V8 needed extra angle for the alternator.(i believe on ls1 vehicles) and they also got the better ratio.

Interesting, it does look identical to my old rack, angle appears the same, just different ratio.
Guess I'll call them and see what they say.
oh, this is a 93-97, so not the ls1 rack.

I guess I'll be trying to reseal my old rack myself...
I talked to them and they don't differentiate between the racks for 93-97 cars...
So there's no way I'm sending in my quick ratio as a core!
lol

He said that I could send it in and he would rebuild it for me, so there's that.

So just FYI if you have the quick ratio lt1 rack and you order a replacement from rack doctor, you are very likely to get the 16.9 ratio rack, no matter what RPO you give

Turn One power steering will rebuild your quick ratio rack and send it back to you.
