Default Anyone run 315s and bump stops on a fourth gen?

If so, how did you do it? I feared the worst with my car when I installed the new tires. While it was raised, the bump stop bracket was on the tire but as I lowered it, the bracket kinda backed away from the tire. I didn't want to risk it so I BFH'd it and now I don't know if that was the smartest idea. Is there a way to get 315s AND the bump stops?

Rear rims are ZR1-C4 replicas.

Yes. You have an adjustable panhard rod? Load the rear suspension and try to get the rear centered. I had to dremel the bump stops a bit. Then get a BFH and a can of truck bedliner and you're all set.

No rub here.

Grind and trim the bump stops until the wheel and tires clear through normal driving suspension travel, they might still rub lifting and dropping back down. When I still had them about half were ground off (same 17x11 ZR1 with 315/35/17 NT05R) and zero spacers. Beat the fender well into submission and use whatever spray for corrosion protection.

I have zero issues with Nittos, no BFH just needed to roll the fenders.

I'm running Nittos. Zero rub issues at stock ride height. Had to BFH and roll the fender lips. I've had a lot of weight in the car at some steep angles with no issues.

Just put my 17x11 ZR1s on with m/t et street ss' minimal hammering to the front of the inner wheel well, didn't have to touch the bump stops, however when the suspension hangs it does come into contact with the tire ever so slightly. I bought an adjustible panhard bar and centered the rear, haven't had any rub issues yet. The car is stock ride height as of now.

I only hit the bump stops when my rear wasn't centered and the tires were off the ground.

to get the tire on the passenger side not to rub, you will have to adj. your panhard bar. the rear will technically not be centered in order for the tire to not rub the outer 1/4 panel lip. it will need to be biased to the driver side more.

i have the same wheels, 315s and stranos

bumpstops were fine though

i have issues , my rear end is centered and if you lift the car up on each side at the sfcs and the rear hangs the bump stops catch on the inner wheel barrel . This is with ws6 wheel widened 2 inches and a 1 inch wheel adaptor . If i lift by the rear end its fine but i need to get something done . i like to lift one side of the car by the sfc at the rear so chance like 1 wheel at a time and i cant do that .

315's and bump stops here. Sam Strano got out offset perfect that all works together well. We had some trouble in the past using the Corvette knock offs.

This thread got me thinking because I don't have this issue at all. I had 18x11 ET42 no issue (fender rolling required). Now I have 18x11 ET45 no issue. I'm running UMI's afco coilovers and I don't think they have a lot of rebound travel so I don't think the travel would allow contact, cause mine kind of looks like they would contact the wheel if it traveled enough, but I'm not sure .

For your case, I would say run a wheel spacer and roll the fender lip... or buy new wheels.

He said it. It's about the offset guys. Lots of stuff "fits" if you are willing to deal with weird rubbing or bumpstops dragging the rim at droop.

315s on mine with UMI Bump Stops.

No BFH. No rolling fenders. No hitting anything.

Get the proper offset, an adjustable PHB, and it all works fine.

315's on ZR1 reps. Rolled the fenders, clobbered the fender well, and ground quite a bit off the bump stops but still have them. Every car is different.

I am purchasing a moser 12 bolt rear end. It will be 3 inches shorter perside. I ordered weld rts 71 17x10.5 in a 5.5 backspace. I am planning to run 315/35/17 mickey thompson drag radials. Will I have any issues? I dont want to roll the fenders.

As I mentioned in the other post I have 18x11 ET45. These are pretty much flush, one side is flush, the other one sticks out about 1/8", I can't seem to get the rear centered any better. I would say ET46 would be perfectly flush, might not clear the bump stop if you have a small diameter wheel. This is with Rival S. Other tires will be slightly different widths.

Yesterday I had the car with the rear hanging. With 18" wheels and the limited rebound travel of the Afco coilovers the bump stop is no where near the rim. I think it would be close to clearing, might need a couple more mm.

At some point before I owned my car someone completely removed the rear bump stops and cut the mounts off. What negative effects will this have?
