Default Compressing stock springs

So today i finally decided to go ahead and start replacing my factory shocks with the koni 4/4 package i bought a few months ago. I went ahead and bought some used front springs and new shock mounts and everything because i knew my factory stuff was going to be rusted badly. So anyway im now trying to compress my springs and im having a difficult time getting them compressed enough to get the upper mount on. I currently have 5 coils compressed and i started one coil from the top. Do i have too many coils compressed or do i need to put one of the compressors on the top coil? Im also doing it by hand so should i go get an impact gun or something?

Reposition the compressor. I was easily able to do mine by hand using the Oreillys compressors (had the "claw" grippers)

The more coils you grab, the less force required to compress.

I did mine the first time with a ratchet. It gives you a heck of workout lol.

yes it did...finally got one of the springs compressed enough to get the strut mount on but then as i tried to decompress the spring i couldn't get the spring compressors to budge so i dropped them off to this local mechanic i know so he can deal with them.
