Default Hotchkis kit for 76 trans am help needed

So I have a 1976 trans am and I'm able to buy a used bnib hotchkis TVs stage 1 kit , however it was purchased for a 71 firebird . I called hotchkis and all the parts in the kits are the exact same except for the rear leaf springs . The 71 uses a 2408c and mine should be a 2409c , all the specs of the leaf springs are the exact same, but the 2408c for the 71 has 3 leaves and the one for the 76 should be 5 ...keep in kind same length, width, lbs per inch rating...should I go ahead and buy it and take the chance ? Anyone done this before or know what will happen using the 3 leaf spring instead of the 5?

IIRC, the issue you MIGHT have to deal with, is the spring brackets on the rear axle may be of a different "depth" for the 3 leaf springs, compared to a 5 leaf spring. But my only "hands on" experience was with a '77 Trans Am that I owned for a LONG time....

I believe the difference is the rear leaf spring mount to the axle. They used to sell a spacer that you bolted in place to make it fit right. You may be able to email their support and ask as well.
