Default Brake bracket bolts stuck?

Hey y’all, I bought some brake backing plates used off of here and the backing plates came with the caliper brackets. I got the passengers side bolts broke loose just fine but I can not get the drivers bracket bolts loose I have dang near rounded the bolt heads completely round, I have broken a socket, broke my sliding tool box top I had my vise bolted to, and broke a ratcheting wrench and these things still won’t break loose I have done everything short of cutting the bolt head off, taking the bracket off and welding new nuts on, or buy a cheap socket and weld it to the bolt head and try to break it loose with a cheater pipe... anyone have advice on getting these dang things broken loose? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: pictures deleted my words, man.

Penetrating oil and let it soak for starters and do the same for the screws for e-brake dust cover. Don't use a screw drive to remove them find the appropriate wrench. You may have to put it in a vice to help you get the leverage needed to break them. You mess around too much longer and you'll need some vice grips to break them free.

Should be a 15mm or it may be an 18mm wrench I don't remember but get on the bolt and use a hammer and give the wrench a few good wacks! Righty tighty! Lefty loosey!

Just place the bracket on the ground and take a wrench and put the hammer to it after you've let it soak in some penetrating oil/ PB Blaster.

They are 15mm bolts, and I used some PB Blaster the day I broke the tool box and socket haha I guess I just need to saturate the whole thing in penetrating oil and maybe even take a propane torch and heat up the backing plate? That is the only thing I have thought about but not actually done besides getting out the grinder and welder.

LOL! Try to get the penetrating oil under the head and on the side with the threads and keep soaking it and trying.

Even with no rust, this is a high torque bolt. A 6 point socket helps a ton (vs. the 12 point socket that appears to have been used to this point) and using a 1/2" breaker bar is a must. 3/8" tools will definitely not do the job. Properly torqued, these should be on almost as tight as lug nuts on a wheel.

The PB Blaster for sure needs a few days to work better. Takes a long time to seep way down into the threads.

Yeah unfortunately I only have a set of 12 point metric impact sockets for 1/2” drive at the time. I intend to run to harbor freight and grab their set of 6 point 1/2” metric impact sockets this weekend and try again. If they are not rounded off too much haha

That will help. Do you also have a 1/2" breaker bar and a 1/2" torque wrench. If so, you should be golden.

Forget using an impact.

Place the bracket on the ground and get a 6pt boxed wrench on the bolt and smack the wrench with a hammer to break it free.

Heat it, they came with factory applied loc-tite. Ratchet wrenches aren't designed for high Torque so no surprise that you broke one. Problem now is that you've rounded the bolt head off. If you can weld then go ahead and weld a nut to it and hit it with an impact gun if possible. Heat combined with impact will bring it loose.

Your impact must suck if you think wacking a wrench with a hammer is better.

I have a SnapOn in 1/2 inch drive, 3/8 and 1/4 with a big enough air compressor to get the job done. When the part is off the car as shown then nothing wrong with using good old fashion MAN power.

I, too, use the wrench and hammer method. But for the part/assembly in this thread, I would have used an impact. If it was still on the vehicle, it would have been a 6pt box wrench and hammer. Easier/quicker than turning on the compressor, un-rolling the air hose, and finding the impact.

Heat it up with a simple soldering style propane torch, 6 point impact socket with a 1/2 impact. Don't be scared to tighten it a little too just to get it to move any.
