Default Do my rear control arm bushings need replaced?

Removing all the suspension and repainting everything and my rear control arms only have 30,000 miles on the bushings and it’s a 94 z28. Here is a picture. They look perfect and are still hard, no cracks, and don’t look lope sided or anything. They just have some dust and dirt around them. This isn’t going to be a track car just a weekend warrior once awhile.

You could upgrade them to 1le versions for a gain in less deflection of the bushing w/o paying a ride penalty.

Other than that yours look fine.

I figure they are fine too and doing a budget build so figure save a few bucks then for else where. Would love all new shiny fancy suspension parts but I’m not tracking it or road course so kinda a waste of extra money just for a short amount of use. Thanks man.

No cracks mean they are as good as they are going to be (which should be the case at that mileage and assuming they are less than ~6-7 years old). If you really want to be sure shove a pry bar in the bolt hole and articulate the bushing. Sometimes cracks won't be visible until there is some movement.

Wow that’s a great idea didn’t think about that. Have to try that when I’m free again to mess with the car.
