I'm installing UMI's upper and lower control arms. I decided to get a new hardware kit since I'd prefer to not use the old bolts, although they were in much better shape than the rest of the bolts on the car. The UMI's kit has longer bolts and does not include the pivot arm that goes into a hole into the k member. I will include a picture of the stock bolt to illustrate what I'm talking about. Is this necessary?
unless the stock bolts are damaged in some way ....they are fine....that hook helps keep the bolt from moving around when doin a alignment.....the stock nuts are a crimped design and if the crimp is not still holding get some new ones.....nothing wrong with regular bolts if you want to use them
I went back to stock bolts. I was really disappointed that those bolts did not have the tab as it makes alignments much more annoying to do. Pretty sad excuse for a product IMO
