Default Elongating lower a arm slots.

Has anyone elongated the slots in the lower a arm to be able to get more adjustment of your camber? Any pros and cons of doing this? 2002 Trans Am. Thanx.

Wouldn't offset bushing work better? Slotting things gives them room to slip. I'd have to see a sketch or photos, but if you are just going to elongate the holes, I'd be worried about control arms shifting under load.

There are slots already there for the normal camber adjustment. Its because I lowered the car, I ran out of room / or I'm all the way at the limit of the original slot travel. I hear that you can just elongate the adjustment slot and you will have more room for the lower a arm to move. Just want to see if any one has done this? And if there are any tips or tricks. Nothing like hacking up a car with a massive dermal or a BFH eh?

You can elongate the camber slots in the K-member. Fairly common in the autocross/road racing circles. Just don’t get too close to the edge.

Yes this is a great way to get extra adjustment. I ground mine out close to the edge and just welded in extra metal to compensate. I can get about -3.2 camber and around +5.5 caster maxed out. I usually run -2 to -2.5 camber which means even more caster but haven't really measured it closely. It's also good to get some Nord-loc washers to keep from slipping or backing off.
