Default UMI front swaybar bracket braces...

Someone on facebook told me about the UMI braces that fit in the OEM front swaybar brackets. Years ago one of my brackets cracked and a local welder added some additional bracing. After 22 years the other one broke. Got the braces and had a friend weld it in for me. Cost me a pizza. These look like they will add a significant amount of strength. My OEM bracket was broken on both ends. Fit was pretty much perfect. Great product and great price.

After 22 years, I found my entire sway bar was sheared! (At one of the ends.) I'm not a fan of the entire OEM assembly.

Thumbs up

If this is what your talking about I purchased a set of these when my stock units broke (10yrs ago). I upgraded to a BMR solid 25mm front sway bar, and I guess it was too much for the stock brackets. These nammer jammers are very heavy duty. I also purchased grade 8 bolts to complete the installation.

I'm not sure about the Grade 8 bolts. I think I'd rather shear a bolt than bend something.

LOLOL....the stock bolts are 10.9 grade.....our cars are metric people ! 10.9 is equivalent to grade 8

I compaired the bolts that were installed with the stock braces to the new grade 8 bolts I purchased, and the machining was far better and cleaner than the stock bolts. I tried to find "MS" spec bolts but was unable to find them, probably because it was metric (thanks for that info).
