Default Brake Issue possibly

Hi,

I just got done re doing my rear axles/bearings/seals etc. I ended up removing the caliper off the bracket when I did this job when I should of not.

I got everything back in, but when i press the brakes, the axle moves instead of stopping. However, if I press the brake pad fully, the axle will not move. It's like an in between movement when pressing the brakes slightly. Air in brake lines? A switch malfunction?

I was trying to compress the piston by using the bleeder valve method but that didn't work (Unscrew bleeder valve and push caliper piston in. I listened to the advice of someone. Should have just used a C clamp but i didn't have one. I ended up using a c clamp at the end to push the piston in slightly. Granted I've done this before when working on suspension and had no issues with the C Clamp method. The car has TCS/ABS. Did I royally F myself, or will a simple bleed job fix this issue?

If you opened the bleeder valve to push in the pistons, you most-likely sucked in air in the process. A normal bleed should work to clear out the air. Might as well go around and bleed all four calipers to be sure (starting with the caliper closest to the master cylinder, then next closest, onwards). If you haven't changed the fluid in a long time, now is a good time for that as well.

Would that cause that issue I described? When I put the car in reverse with no brake pressure the axle doesn't spin. There's nothing grinding on it. When I slowly press the brake the axle spins freely, then when pressing all in it stops. Either way i have to bleed them.

Not sure. The symptoms in your new post sound stranger than the previous post. Double check that you didn't accidentally put a twist in the line when you reinstalled the calipers.

If you changed your rear rotors, you MUST adjust your parking brake for the new rotor hats. The procedure is in this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...ightening.html

Per the notes above, you should also bleed your calipers. Once you have adjusted your parking brakes and are sure they aren't dragging and once you have properly bled them, you should be able to give it another go.
