Lowering Spring on convertible???
The ad said not to be used on convertible
But when I look online (Summit, Jegs, ect), none of the ads say anything about rather it's a convertible or not
Is there any difference???
Also, Jegs has lowering springs for about half the price of other manufacturers
Are they any good???
Thanks,
Rob

Hey Rob,
I installed cheap lowering springs on my 2000 vert without changing anything else, and had no issues other than dragging long tube headers on speed bumps. I noticed mildly improved handling, but the extra compression on the shocks inhibited their performance and introduced some unpredictable handling elements during hard cornering. Though the car looked pretty menacing sitting so low, I eventually went back to the SS Bilstein setup for handling. Having all that said, I’m not a technician and I welcome correction if I’m inaccurate, but the only differences I’m aware on the verts is the additional sheet metal in the doors and around the floorboard area, otherwise the cars are identical. If I had to guess why they would say no vert, it may have something to do with the extra weight. Again, the stance looked great, but be mindful of underbody components such as oil pans that don’t enjoy run ins with speed bumps and sewer caps, etc., as well as the bump steer increase. Hope this helps!
