Default banging noise under hard acceleration

Last night I took off at the bottom of first and I heard a light bang or tap noise coming from my rear. This happened twice, about a second apart.

I've noticed this same noise when quick shifting into 2nd gear under hard acceleration.

It doesn't happen every time but seems to be more frequent when going up or down an incline. Perhaps just a coincidence?

I've also heard a very loud banging noise when my rear tire goes over a bump (this is rare though). it sounds like metal slamming on metal.

What's going on with my car???

Do you have an automatic? Sounds like it could be the tranny mount...loud and violent bang when shifting.

If it is coming from the rear, it could be wheel hop or maybe a bad bushing somewhere.

Hard to tell without seeing/experiencing.

What can you do for a y-pipe banging. Think that is what I'm having trouble with, serious bang going over bump like r/r tracks, and noticed the pipe in back looks sorta flattened....

If you have the pipe up as far as you can get it no matter how you adjust the exhaust positioning I have two suggestions
1. Have a piece of pipe added in and get it up higher
2. If you can't go any higher because of the floorboard put the damned bump stops back in the car and don't go so fast of the tracks LOL JK man.
