I use StainlessWorks headers and catted y-pipe. The header collectors tuck up amazingly well. Can't even see them unless you put you head on the ground and look up. I love mine. For $1099 I've got long-tubes that fit nicely, 2 Random Tech high-flow converters (and they are not big and have huge holes) and a Y-pipe, all of which is stainless steel. Very pleased with mine.

If I'm not mistaken, the Stainless Works headers use a 2.5" collector (so should tuck much better), whereas the QTPs use a 3" collector and y-pipe. My Kooks are the same way (3" collector and y-pipe), and tuck up well enough on my car to have never scraped them anywhere. I run the Ground Control kit with Bilsteins, and have it lowered about 1.5" all around.

And Sam, I think he was asking how do they compare quality-wise (welds, flanges, etc) as well as performance-wise...

Mine are beautiful. All Tig welded (and awesome welds too), no leaks fit right, lifetime warranty on both materials AND workmanship (if something breaks, they'll fix it.... unless you smashed it on a curb or something).

As nice a header as I've ever used. Again, I'm very happy with mine and I really don't like selling anything I'm not happy with. I can get Pacesetters and the like, but really see no reason to do so unless you only want a painted set. By the time you get them coated, and a catted Y-pipe you haven't saved a ton anyway.

As for the performance... I haven't dyno'ed my car, but it's much stronger, and in talking to Al Noe @ StainlessWorks their first priority was torque. On an SS that had a lid and an SLP exhaust they made 22 hp and 29 ft/lbs at the wheels, and across the board, not at the top end (and that was without tuning).

I've got the SW headers too. Much better clearance than the FLP's I had, and easier to change the oil. I'm not super-fond of their y-pipe merge, I may try to do true duals over the winter, out the back.

does the exhause sound any different going out of T-304 or regurlar stainless, I dont know if it really matters. But is the SW t-304 steel?

No, just the heat retention and durability of the parts. Stainless retains heat better than mild steel, and hotter gasses flow better/more easily. They do use 304 Stainless, and mine have turned a nice golden color with some blue mixed in, which I think looks really nice.

I've got QTP long tubes and the car is lowered two inches. They tuck up very close and are a high quality product. I've never really compared them to those from SW, though.
