Default how to change rotors and pads

gonna be doing this soon just looking for some help not really too sure how to do it ..

fulton1 is right on. I also got some great advice from this website, do a search and you will have enough info to tackle the job with no problem. The installuniversity pics are very helpfull.

Make sure you get the new bolts for the brackets before you start the job! Advanced Auto in my town only had 2 in stock! :-( (Use hardened 10.9 metric 12mm x 1.75 x 40mm long bolts (black anodized)). You can use the old bolts with loctite, but the manual emphatically states using new bolts.

Ya know, this is one of those things that I believe is a misprint in the manual. Please don't take my word for it since your safety is most important, but IMO the verbiage in the manual is a carryover from the LT1 brakes which required tightening the TTY bolts to something like 160 ft-lbs. With ours only requiring 74ft-lbs, I just don't see these bolts being TTY and therefore needing to be replaced. FWIW, I've never replaced mine - I just Loc-tite them everytime I pull the calipers. I checked with two dealers in my area and both told me they never change the bolts when they remove the rotors and their respective parts departments don't even stock the bolts.

no need to buy new bolts. i've removed my calipers MANY times and am on the stock bolts still with no problems
