Default I go through brake rotors....

...like nothing else. The warp, and I replace them and the car drives fine, only to warp a month later, I dont even drive the car alot. Its not abuse warping them, and I know they are prone to warping, but not this bad, what else can be playing a roll in this? Thanks

I warped my rotors because my caliper slide pins were f'ed up. They were froze in place which didn't let the caliper move like it was supposed to. Beacuse of that my rotors eventually warped. Check for that, and see if that is your problem. Are you changing pads every time you change rotors? Hope that helps.

Are you torquing your lug nuts to 100 ft/lbs with a torque wrench?

Actually, the first time I replaced them, the pins was froze, and we got a new caliper, its gone through 2 more sets since. I torque them to 100 with a click type wrench, calibrated. Also, there is a contant scraping noise at wheel rotation, someone suggested rotor dust shields, which not only wasnt a problem, mine seemed to be missing.
Thanks for replies,
John

Make sure you torque them in a star shaped, criss cross pattern.

Also, are the pistons retracting into the calipers like they are supposed to, thereby allowing the rotor to turn freely or are the rotors and pads constantly rubbing?

take a 10-20 mile drive and then check the temprature of the brakes. they should be warm and perhaps too hot to touch but not seering heat. somthing is causing the pads to drag and burn em up
