Default Stainless brake lines?

I have a 2002 firebird V6. I found stainless braided brake line kits for the front, but none for the rear on vendor web sites. However, they do make front and rear kits for the LS1 in a 2002. Are the brakes the same on the LS1 as the V6? Has anyone bought a LS1 kit and used it on a 6?

Thanks,
JAM

The brakes are the same regardless of which engine is installed. Cars with traction control (ASR/TCS) require the 6 line kit, while cars without need only 5 lines. This is the only difference on all F-body brake systems starting in 1998 through the end of production.

Excellent! This is what I suspected, however... I had heard it was a 5 line kit for TCS, and a 4 line without. Can anyone validate? Can anyone recomend a kit with a part number for a car with TCS?

All I can tell you is stay away from the Earl's kit. They are a horrible company with terrible customer service. They sell a 5 hose kit that doesn't include all the jam nuts necessary to complete the job. Also, they don't have a sixth hose for sale if you have a traction control car.

Do you need the 6 line kit? They are the hardest to find.

Russel also makes a 6 line kit.

If you don't have traction control you need the 5 line kit which are sold everywhere.
