Default Whacked the bottom of my car, should I be concerned?

I whack the bottom of my car good on a corner where there was about a 8 inch drop where the road had broken away. I was only doing like 5 mph, but you heard it go BAM when it hit. I only went in with the front wheel, and apparently it landed right on the K-member. Put a nice size scrape on it. I don't notice any difference driving though. Should I be worried, or should it be alright?

You should be concerned enough to really check out the area closely. But if you don't see anything and it doesn't drive any differantly then I doubt if any real damage was done. I'd look really close though.

I'd suggest getting the alignment checked after that hit.

I looked it all over good. That appears to be the only spot that even hit. It sucks. I am due for an alignment. I am hoping that K-member is solid enough to not get bent (or cause anything else to get bent) from that whack.

I had something like that happen to me and my steering rack became loose. Got everything tighten back down and an alignment done; has been fine ever since.
