Rack and Pinion P/N?

Rack and Pinion P/N? I have a 2000 Trans Am that has a pretty good leak on the rack. I wanted to buy a replacement rack and pinion, but I'm confused on some things. AutoZone has a remanufactured one for $154.00. GMPartDirect has two listed - one with ralley suspension, one without.
Now, the dealer is telling me that I need to give him the vin# in order to order the "correct" one. He's telling me that there are 8 different racks listed for my car?!?! Why is that? Is he full of it? Is there truely a difference?
The car is a non-WS6 car, but I didn't think that was a change with that package anyways.
I just need to know what part number to order!! Thanks!!
