Default Need shock and strut suggestion

I have been having some major traction problems.......I am already getting SFC. lakewood lower control arms and pan hard, and edelbrock torque arm. I am kinda stumped on the shock and strut combo......I have searched and searched and still have questions..........the car is a street car that occasionally sees the strip. What shock strut combo would you suggest for weight transfer to help with traction? I can't afford a $300 a shock setup, I'm looking for something moderately priced that's a compromise between good road manners and good straight line traction.

BTW I will be keeping my stock springs and stock ride height......I am looking for a compromise between good road manners and "better than stock suspension" straight line acceleration, no road courses for me.
