Default e-brake handle removal

How do I get this sucker off to change to a newer one? All I see is a rivet on the drivers side near the bottom.

I know some of the older ones had screws, but this seems to be riveted on.

TIA

Chris

Are you sure it's a rivet? I thought it was a small hex key. I could be wrong, but I thought that's what I remembered seeing.

If it is it is very small. I will check it tonight. The internet makes ya a little bit lazier than normal.

Thanks

If the dealer has ever removed it, they replaced the bolt with a rivet. Mine has a rivet that will have to be drilled out.
