Baer Owners, Have you ever had your drilled/slotted rotors turned?

Default Baer Owners, Have you ever had your drilled/slotted rotors turned?

Baer doesnt recommend it, but i wouldnt either if i charged $200 a fricken rotor . Any1 every have them turned successfully?

You might be able to have a machine shop grind them (not the same as turning, you'd want it ground, like a flywheel).

Ahh, ya makes sense. Actually, the rotors would prob start to crack before they need to be turned though wouldnt they? As long as Idiot #1 doesnt let the pad get to far worn

It's not a good idea to try to turn them. I tried to turn an old slotted rotor just for ***** and the cutting bit shattered when it went through the slot. It also cracked the rotor in that spot. Good thing I was wearing safety glasses.

I am not an expert in this field, but turning your Bear rotor is different from turning an 'old slotted rotor'. Baer rotors are poured into a mold, and other drilled/slotted rotors are drilled after production. Would this make the difference? I also think surfacing a poured rotor similar to surfacing a flywheel is the way to go. If something must be done.

If they are warped, they have a lifetime warrenty don't they?
