Default SLP Bolt In Subframe Install Question

The instructions say that I will need to trim my metal heat sheild on the drivers side...I dont see where I need to trim it though, has anyone else needed to do this? Thanks and any install info would be great!

I did mine about 3 years ago so I forget. But yes I actually took mine off to trim.
Front drivers side.........as I recall.

If you dont see a clearance problem, bolt em up and torque em up

thanks everyone, yea i was a little dissapointed. I went out the other day thinking it was an easy direct install but once i read the instructions and saw all the steps I was like oh god another painful install, but after seeing this instructions it looks like a fairly straight forward install.

Just wait until the holes don't line up

I've blocked that painful memory out of my head...

Yeah, they need to do a better job of lining up the holes. Lets just say me and the dremel became very good friends that night!

Mine seem to be coming loose already...will redoing it with lock tite put an end to this? Also for all the money these cost you would think SLP could have put torque specs and a little more detail into the directions.

Bolt them on nice and tight. Have a shop weld them on latter. Make sure they suspend the car on all four wheels...not by the chassis. Once the SFC's are welded they will 'lock in' any flex to the chassis.

If you are concerned at all then just have the bolt heads spot welded. If you want to remove the sub frames in the future all you have to do is gind off the spot welds.

What should I expect to pay to have them welded on? Also anyone know of a place in either NJ or raleigh/durham NC (im moving there in a few weeks) that will do this for me?
