Default Weight of LCAs?

Anyone got a list of LCA weights, specifically, how much weight is lost by going to an Aluminum Rod/Rod set up over a Poly/poly set up from say BMR?

WHAT? no way in hell. When i removed the stockers and put in the billingsley chromoly double rod ended i lost only about 3 lbs. Maybe the poly lca's in aluminum are different but i wouldnt think more than a few lbs.

Maybe this info will help some, the weights arent from using my bathroom scale either.

Stockers- 9.15lbs

Our Poly/Poly Mild Steel Set up- 8.75lbs

Our Single Adjust. Mild Steel Poly/Rod End Set up- 6.60lbs

Our Double Adjust. Chrome Moly Rod End/Rod End- 6.00lbs

Hope that helps

So, how much is 3#s each side worth? Other than the binding issue, it is hard not to go with the regular Poly ends...sure is alot cheaper.

Shon,

As mentioned previously which we seem to concure with OEM stock weights being almost identical as UMI.

I wouldn't be concerned with the weight of these parts as they are all very close. If you prefer aluminum as mentioned in our previous discussion, BADZ has a very nice product. Most of the weight isn't in the rod itself, it is in the rod end components.

Measured on calibrated scale (lol on the bathroom scale comment...that must happen more often then not as I see numbers all over the place for any of our components)

Stock LCA : 4 lbs 8.5oz each.
Our LCA : 2lbs 11.5 oz each.

Rod ends are for RR and DR applications. Poly/rubber is good for DD. Don't go with rod ends for a DD car unless you have a higher tolorance for transferred noise and don't mind changing your rod ends more often.

Very nicely put, I thought someone would catch my bathroom scale comment

Rod end noise also depends on the quality of the rod end, I have found less expensive rod ends to cause more noise. As Steve10 mentioned I don't think weight on this item is etremely critical seeing all items are very close, but that is your decision.
