Default Cheap Lowering Mod?.....

I have the 10 bolt out of the car right now. The rear springs are out right now. There is a rubber boot that goes on the top of the spring where it meets the body. Someone told me last night that I could take the rubber peice off and line the top of the spring with split hose of some sort. He said it would drop the rear about .75" till I do a real spring swap...
Has anyone else heard of this?
I don't like the fender gap the car has now. I WILL lower it but I'd like to chop the rear now for the short term. Does this sound realistic?

yes, you can do that. it does drop the rear like 3/4" i havnt really heard to much about it good or bad. I do have a friend that cut his stock springs, he did half a coil off each spring and it made a world of differance with his finder gap. just dont use a torch to cut them, they will get to hot.

it's known as the "hose-mod". use heater-hose on the 1st coil to avoid metal to metal contact.
The question is what you gonna do for the front ?

Dont cut the rear. Remove the plastic insulator and slide 5/8 hose over (if you want). Cut no more than 3/4 coil off the bottom of the front springs and grind the end flat (horizontal).

Thanks for the replies! The rear looks a BIT higher than the front, so I'm not worried about a "weird off angle look". I will do the hose mod in the rear to even things out and I'll keep y'all posted on how it goes. It looks too high in the rear anyway so I think this will be good.
