I need to know the flow rate in GPM for the power steering pump on a '98 LS1.


I swapped a LS1 in to my Jeep and I need to know if the pump flows enough to run Hydroboost brakes along with the steering.

Any idea of the psi it puts out?

GM's article to service dealers says while testing the pressure of the high pressure line, that it should NOT exceed 230 psi (16.8 kg/cmý). The pressure relief specification of the pump shows it should be more than 1200 psi (84kg/cmý).

I thought I saw that the peak pressure was around 1400 psi at the locks...

BTW, if you need to know, the adapter size on the PS pump is an M16 x 1.5 o-ring.

Sounds like I have enough flow to run the steering and brakes but they suggest 1500psi to 2000psi for peak performance. I guess I'll just hook it all up and hope for the best.
