Default Lowering my car

I would like to lower my Z. But I have a few questions. First of all, I would like to retain the aggressive stance with the back end up a little more than the front. Does this require purchasing two separate kits? Also, as I have no experience with this, what does it require and what are my best choices?

There's so many choices. I would suggest start saving your money and plan out a budget. The good stuff can be pretty expensive ($1000), but give you fully adjustable ride height, shock damping and your choice of spring rates. It's pretty sweet. If you are on a smaller budget, you will have to make compromises, like a fixed height spring or non-adjustable shocks.

Once you have a budget you need to figure out what you want to do with your car, corner carver, drag strip only, daily driver, etc... Then get back to us.

I know, I know everyone says dont go this route, but every car I own I get the springs cut. I have a impala ss super heavy, and a F body currently. Both cars have the springs cut by a professional. I get the exact look I want, better handling, and its cheap! I just got back my F body today with the springs cut and it looks perfect. The ride is so much tighter. It went down about 1 1/2" or so, and looks 10X better with my wheel and tire combo. The impala is heavy, and it worked out perfect too. Ive been driving it for over 2 years like that. The alignment shop aligns my cars no problem. But do yourself a favor IF you go this route.... get a shop who does it alot to do it!

I also like to heat the springs and let them drop until you have the desired height.

I would not heat springs. You will anneal the metal and soften the spring (removing the temper and making a portion of it "no longer a spring"). This is not ideal for long spring life (yes, I know someone will tell me that "everyone does it". That still does not make it a good idea, or even a safe one). I'd avoid that if at all possible.

I know that "cold cutting" a spring is perfectly fine using a cutoff wheel or something similar, but using a torch to cut or just to lower really does damage the spring making it much more susceptible to failure. Plus, I imagine it can be hard to get each side exactly the same.
I really would NOT want to do that, especially to such a fast, performance vehicle.
