Question Car Leaning in Rear...

I just got an 00' WS6 M6. Car has 72500 on it.

When looking at the rear, the left side is about a half inch higher than the right.

I have been under the car and can not see any damage or obvious issues.

Could the right side spring be too weak, Left side to strong?

Could be shock or spring related. Most likely a bad shock on the sagging side.

the car has been raced alot...
the passanger side rear is the side that the tq of the motor naturally throws the weight to when launching... 30-40 times doing it over the years will wear that sides shock faster...
time for a new set of shocks...
hey since you gotta do it anyways i recomend stepping up to qa1 adjustable shocks
they will aid traction...

and if you plan to race your car, then i would also recomend a drag rear sway bar, it has solid endlinks and is very strong, it will keep your chasis from leaning on the launch and the result is better hooking off the line and no more problems like this as both sides get equally loaded...

as far as i know all fbodies are like this (everyone i have seen looked like it had about .25-.50 inch lean, i ususally do the finger between the wheel well and tire test lol) mine did this with all brand new suspension. sit in the driver seat of the car and it will level itself out, once you are in it it stabilizes, which is good so it will be even with you in it instead of a driver side lean

I doubt it, nothing else indicates any excessive racing. I raced my 97 Z-28 100's of times and it never did this.

More and more guys are coming back with this as being farily normal for these f-bodies.

who said anything about excessive???? 30-40 trips down the 1/4 mile is perfectly NORMAL your car is 5 years old... 35/5 is 7 times down the 1/4 a year... that can be done on ONE trip to the track...

its an fbody.... its NORMAL that it got raced ... its totally UNUSUAL to find one that has seen no track time... even more rare , if it exhists at all would be to find one that was never driven hard....

if its NORMAL for an Fbody to lean to the TQ side... thats because its NORMAL for them to be raced

when my ws6 was new, it did not lean at all... niether did ANY of the ones i looked at , at the dealerships in 2002...or 1997....

if its NORMAL then go to the dealership and find a brand new GTO with 0 miles... tell me if it leans...

what im wondering though is if its from springs and shocks then why is it that i and other have replaced the entire suspension and it still does it? im not trying to argue a point just asking about it. could the subframe possibly be twisted? maybe time of driving around with no subframes?

i think you may have answered your own question...
in some of the cases racing without SFC's may have twisted the chassis alittle...
in ither cases(and what i would check first) the weak *** rear sway bar may be slightly bent....

easy enough to check... unbolt it, lay it on level ground and look... if it is you will see it...
you could also have a crushed bushing...

when you say you replaced the WHOLE suspention... what all did that intail?

Maybe it looks that way because you only have one shoe on...

I went and got my car looked at today, and the guy said that I needed to get new front springs , but imo front springs dont really have anything to do with the car leaning to the drivers side rear.
