Default ls1 brakes on lt1

i was wondering how many lt1 guys here have switched over to an ls1 setup. what all does this take and about how much will it run me? or would it just be better to replace them with oem parts??

i have. its definitely worth it. that or check it out over at cz28.com there is a group buy on c5 brackets to convert to corvette brakes. i would do that if i had to do it again

Converting to '98+ F-Bod brakes for a pre 98 car requires you to replace the knuckle long with all the brake parts.

If you buy a bracket like referenced above, you can keep your stock knuckle and then source all the brake parts.

However, you will have to alter the knuckle to get them to fit.

I did the swap. It was very easy. If you get the calipers, brackets, knuckles, and lines it will all bolt in easily. Your lines might work but i got the ls1 lines just to play it safe. It will probably cost you about $150 on ebay.

also, how different are 98+ fbody brakes compared to c5 brakes?

did you have to buy all this seperate or are there sellers selling everything complete??

i did the ls1 brake swap on my 95 Z.......both front and rear.
one of the best mods you can do.

this is all you need to upgrade the fronts.

Be forwarned ...

Of the 4 pairs of USED knuckles I have bought and installed, 3 individual knuckles were bent.

If the donor car was in a roll over or had significant side impact, where the rims were curbed or similar, chances are very good the knuckles are trash.

new ones are $130 each ...
