Default WElding up subframes

Hey i was just wondering what settings on you mig welder you guys have used to weld in the subframes? As far as amperage and such? also, should I Mig or Tig weld it. I dont have much experience in either, but i do have a lot of experience in Stick Welding. and i hear that mig is a walk in the park. So what settings have you guys used? thanks

It depends on the welder, wire type and weld you're doing. You need to know this yourself there is no majic number.
Don't tig them in unless you take the VCM out of the car. OUT OF THE CAR.

Can you clarify what you mean by taking the VCM out of the car? I'm a chemist and not a welder, but my bro who is a Master Certified welder (doing exotics metals) offered to weld my bolt-in SLP subframes for me. Let me know what do's and don'ts I should tell him.

I've only heard this. The sine waves from the tig welder can damage the vehicle control module. You can mig or stick weld with no problems.

He probably meant the PCM or computer. Some tig welders use High Frequency starts and can damage sensitive electronics.

PCM is the powertrain control module. ECM is the engine control module.
VCM is the vehicle control module. I guess you learn to use VCM if you've worked with HP Tuners at all.

Only do a small section at a time and you can control how much heat is transmitted through the floor boards. This also helps make sure you don't warp the metal either.
