well you'll probably also want to upgrade your shocks to match the higher spring rates of the new springs... and you'll also need an adjustable panhard rod (look for Trackbird... he makes a great one) to re-center the rear end.

Shocks can be expensive, so one option is to upgrade the front shocks when your lowering the car, thoes are the hardest to get to. Although I still recomend upgrading all 4.

I can understand that, but you'll still want to upgrade the shocks. When you lower a car, you must increase the spring rate in order to keep the car from bottoming out continuously. The stock shocks can hardly handle the stock spring rates and increased spring rates will wind up with a dramatically underdampened car. Have you ever seen a ricer bouncing down the road like a basketball? That's because they installed lowering springs without adequate shocks.

Naturally you don't HAVE to get new shocks, but I guarantee that if you do get upgraded shocks to match your springs, the car will look better going down the road and will drive much better as well.

So what would be a good springs and shocks combo, with a 1" drop?

Check out this link and see what looks good to you. Not a whole lot of options for a 1" drop.

the only reason i wanna just drop an inch is because my long tubes hang way down. I don't know much about suspension, but If I bought a set of Bilstein HD shocks and eibach 1" lowering springs, would that work and would the car just be dropped one inch. Help me out guys.

I have the jet hot long tubes like you have and I run a pro kit. The headers are tucked up about as good as you can get. My y-pipe sux, but I plan on getting a new one made with oval tubing to gain some clearence so I can drop it a lil more.

For a 1" drop, maybe give the hotchkis springs a try. I have absolutely no experience with them but people seem to like them quite well and they shouldn't be too rough for a street car (looks only).

EDIT: Another option is to pony up for a set of Koni SA shocks and use the lower front perch and the heater hose mod for the rear to get the drop... and your handling would be much better.

Whoops, I thought I mentioned that... Heh. It kinda depends what springs you decide on, some have higher rates than others. You can go with bilstein HD's, but revalves would probably be better. However, if you use the koni shocks, I can't remember how far exactly you can drop the car, but you can get great shocks and a drop without swapping springs.
