Good question. Kevlar seems to work well on clutches, so why not brakes?

I'm thinking the same thing, however I wonder if the operating temperature would be adequate for proper street operation, and if the benefit of gained performance outweighs risk factors of longevity and possible chemical composition failure (not really chemical failure, but a physical property that would result in braking failure due to a change in the pads molecular composition).

Ever hear you get what you pay for???? Generally it's pretty true, and $25 pads for a Camaro... I'd say is a *bad* idea.

Kevlar is not cheap to begin with, and you can bet if there is any, it ain't much for that price (go see what the bargain basement crap costs @ AutoZone....). And Kevlar is a bonding material, not a friction material. "Kevlar" is one of those hot words that makes folks go woowwwww... Just like there are "carbon fiber" brake pads. There aren't, but damn is sounds cool. There are carbon brakes, and carbon based materials, but not carbon fiber brakes (think of what real carbon fiber costs).

And FWIW.... I've *never* heard of Lomandi brake pads.

Ok..... Porterfield has made carbon-kevlar pads for a number of years. I sell them, I have used them. They are fine, but nothing excpetionally different than any other pads wtih an appropriate compound for the use.
