Fronts only. I think you can get them a bit cheaper {150 maybe}, I was just trying to use a local supplier.

This sounds like a good deal. I am in need of brake work and would like to upgrade. Is it benefficial to change the calipers as well or will you get a noticed increase in braking performance just going from the 11.8" rotor to the 12.8" rotor as well as good pads?

Plus, please post any of the other sponsors who sell and make these brackets. The UMI one looks good and would love to jump on this setup.

im getting the original bob bishop brackets from a admin on www.frrax.com. His name is Trackbird. Its not that the 18 dollar GM rotors suck, its that they have lowered prices on the rotors altogether. Also with this setup, later in the future you can upgrade to z51 13.4inch rotors with the c6 pad abutement bracket, and also wiht 18 inch wheels, the new c6 z06 brakes as well. here are the parts you need! i listed some pad options also. each price is listed Each.

12530682 / 1 / Caliper (standard C5) - $87.82 (Guide pin bolts included)
12530683 / 1 / Caliper (standard C5) - $87.82 (Guide pin bolts included)
88895128 / 1 / Caliper (Z06) - $85.07 (Guide pin bolts included)
88895129 / 1 / Caliper (Z06) - $85.07 (Guide pin bolts included)
12455799 / 2 / Pad abutment bracket - $27.68
10333772 / 2 / Front caliper brake hose - $19.71
12530697 / 4 / Pad abutment guide pin - $3.44
12530703 / 4 / Guide pin boot - $2.87
22163795 / 2 / Banjo bolt - $2.32
10139097 / 4 / Banjo bolt copper washers - $0.36
12480154 / 1 / Hawk HP+ pad set - $94.50
18039366 / 1 / Durastop Front pad set - $45.20
88909667 / 1 / Durastop Ceramic front pad set (w/springs & shims) - $49.88
88952008 / 1 / Z06 front brake pad set (w/springs & shims) - $97.52
Right front low cost durastop rotor - 88925547 $18.81
Left front low cost durastop rotor - 88925548 $18.81

I got the price off gmdirect.com.
also if you want a package price which when you include shipping call this guy up and say you want the c5 brake upgrade kit.I think the basic kit is like 400, then you can change pads or whatnot with him, he will give you probably the best price on everything shipped!

I heard the Camaro caliper is actually bigger (piston is a few mm bigger) than the Corvette C5 caliper! Mostly a bling bling thing!

the c5 caliper is an upgrade. The C5 calipers are Pressure Cast (not forged, but molded under pressure) instead of Gravity Cast (poured?). The F-body calipers have been known to "spread" or start to "open up" under race temperatures and pressure. The C5 calipers hold up better under this abuse.

I used my old LS1 calipers and so far I'm happy. The Corvette calipers are a bit stronger and will resist spreading in extreme circumstances but I have to ask, just how many of use will actually use our cars in such circumstances? Unless you are really wheel to wheel road racing or you are a very serious open tracker, then the LS1 calipers will work fine.

For 99% of people on this forum, a set of LG Motorsports relocation brackets, a good set of pads and "maybe" some brake ducting is all we will ever need. Like I said, 100ft stops form 60mph for around 500 bucks ain't too shabby. JMO

If you are concerned about that, then you're not even going to use the 'vette calipers, you're going to step up to nice 6 piston calipers.

Personally, upgrading the brackets, putting in some larger rotors, and a good set of pads will put a smile back on my face.

Lots of good info in this thread guys....thankyou.
My question is are the larger rotors any more or less prone to warping that the stock size ls1 rotors? If they don't warp as often seems worth the price of admission right there.

The C5 rotors are less prone to warping than the LS1 rotors.
