E-brake maneuvers
All I can say is that, I wish I would of known this before I went ahead and wore mine out.! Yes I abused my E-Brake for a while and now its to the point where it barley works as a parking brake,oh and I can forget bout tryin to lock up the tires anymore just wont happen. I did more than once lock up the tires goin over 60mph. J turns and 360s. I wish I could fix it I have never really looked into it. Does anyone have any idea on how to make it strong to where its suited for this kinda abuse?
The way the park brake is designed on our cars it's just not going to last long when used in such a way. I have done it myself several times with no problems, but I stopped risking it. I'm supprised there aren't nore people here that have park brakes that won't hold the car, the factory clips are to small to hold the bands in place, which causes the bands to ride on the drum, causing excessive wear. It doesn't take much wear at all to cause this system to lose it's hold.
If you want to e-brake all the time without worries I would chnge to lt1 style rear brakes as it will handle much more abuse, just because of the way it's designed.

SpeedyWs6 do you have more info on LT1 style rear brakes? Would that be a good idea to switch it out to LT1 brakes? More Info please anyone. Aside from being intrested mine are pretty much toast at this point anyway so I need a solution.
