I'm not saying you need an SCCA ready setup... But I'm looking at you signature right now and you've spent a lot more money on things a lot less imporant to the performance and stability of the car. Chrome Z06 wheels, billet grill, clear corners. STB, Chrome Billet shifter....

I can't spend you money, and not trying to tell you how to do it. But when you ask about the feasibility of using stock shocks for lowerings spring and have a TON of valid reasons not to do so you should think about it a bit harder. If it's money, I understand that, but would hope you would take this seriously enough to put the money where it's needed.

Yeah man I bought all of that stuff when i first got the car when I was working somewhere that paid decent and before i discovered ls1tech.com. I was modding my car like Ray Charles I had the funds to blow then. Now I'm back in school and I'm stuck with what I've got untlil I get out in spring. After that let everything that I did wrong pro-kit being one of them. It's getting replaced.

Pro-kit being wrong..... Why? Lots of folks are plenty happy with them, once they have good shocks to make them work properly.

Again, I think there is some short-sightedness here. You deem the pro-kits as a mistake (and may or may not be), but have have them teamed up with or are listening to folks who have them teamed up with inadequate shocks. Don't blame X for Z's lack of performance. But that happens a TON in this world because truly well thought out setups are rare. Too easy to buy a bunch of random parts and stick them on. The original point stands true, shocks are spring dampers. How can stock spring dampers work right with non-stock springs? And in this case the stock dampers suck to begin with.

I meant the pro-kit being wrong from a ride height stand point. Sorry should have throwed that in there. I haven't had any problems out of them ever. Other than the norm of the rear sagging. I have probably 30k miles on mine now. Man believe me Sam I know I screwed up not buying shocks and struts to and I could kick my butt not for doing it. But like I said that was before I knew about ls1tech. I'm getting ready to pull the sagging rear springs an put the stocker's back on with the hose mod. Eventually I want to put QA1's up front. That way I can put the ride height were I want it. I like the slammed in the front look and alittle higher in the back. G2, DMS etc. I've read alot of your post since I've been on tech and yes you are the **** when it comes to susp. No hard fealings here. I like constructive critisism that is the best way to learn.

I see....

FWIW, G2's are every bit as low in the back. DMS and BMR are among the mystery rate and origin springs. If you want adjustable ride height you need not go QA1's which are poor dampers, but add a coil-over kit to a Bilstein or Koni (or other shocks if appropriate, but usually not).
