Default NEED the TIGHT handling back again....

alright, heres the problem, my car has 123000 miles on it and on the freeway or even on the road it feels a little loose. follows the road a hell of a lot. i want that new feel where the front end is tight and only turns when you want it to. i already got all the ball joints, tie-rods and bushings checked. they said they all look fine. so i dont know what else to do. should i go with polyurethane bushings since they are harder? if so what bushings do i need to do the front end? any advice is welcome.

thanks

don't really know what kind of tyres you're running on what rims. Bear in mind that a wider than stock tyre can lead to some tramlining. I can say that if you haven't replaced the shocks already, start there, and don't replace OEM orange "DeCarbon" brand with the same thing. If you don't plan on any lowering, you could try Bilstien HD's, but only if you use the stock springs. How long has it been since you have had an alignment? Also poly bushings are not the cure to any of your worn bushings or stabiliser bar endlinks. If you were to consider firmer bushings, then your choice would be to opt for a harder durometre bushings, such the GM 1LE type. Poly isn't a good bushing, since it will bind and coldflow over time.

Oh yes, thanks for the comfort reminder. I will also note that some higher durometre rubber bushings will also create some firmness as well with a tradeoff in comfort, but why spend the money on bushing material that will not only make you more uncomfortable, but will make more issues than needed. Many poly bushings create lots of NVH.

is it just the steering that feels loose? if so you may need to get ur steering box tightened up a bit. with those kind of miles i wouldnt doubt it. this procedure takes less than 10-15 minutes if u have a guy who knows what he is doing. there will be a bolt or allen head screw on the top of the steering box. it needs to be adjusted once in a while to get rid of play in the steering. this may be your problem.

yeah if you have play in your steering wheel...there's a bolt or two on the upper steering knuckle which is right next to your driver's side header. It's best to use a 12" extension and a ratchet wrench to tighten the bolt. Shouldn't take more than two minutes. But this is only if you have play in the wheel. Good luck

You need to get some decent shocks on the car..... That is 100% your issue. Can moves all over the place? Generally feels sloppy, generates a lot of body roll really quickly, always needs correction to stay on course.... All shocks.

Even more so if he has 123,000 mile original de Crapons. Those things are not worth a damn with 0 miles!!
