I need some info please... I recently picked up some brand new Hyperco Springs, now Im wanting to do shocks as well. But I keep reading that Bilstein H/D's are not to be used for lowering your car. Yet at the same time I read that other people are simply loving their Hypercoil/Bilstien combo.
So here I am not wanting to spend 1k$ in Koni shocks and I dont know how good the other brands like tokico, hal, ect... are in combo with hypercoil spings. Im wanting to road course race my car next year, I have in plan for the C5 brake upgrade as well as Sway bars, LCA's PHB ect...
My car is my daily driver, but i have crappy winters here in the City of Indianapolis and sometimes the roads break up and get big pot holes. My car rides on 275/285 17" Fikse FM5's. I have a completely stock suspension, and im okay with it as it only has 60k Miles. But recently I took it on a road course track here in Indiana Putnam Raceway Park and I like to think my car did okay on it. But I know with it being a FBody it handles and brakes like complete ***. So I want to change that.
I need to know if what I need to get my shock/spring combo in perfect order in conjunction with a car being a D/D and Road Course Cruiser...

With all that searching I'm surprised you didn't learn Koni's are worth what they cost. I don't think it's $1000, should be around $750 for a set of four Koni SA's. If you want to save a little more, just put the Koni SA's on the front and get some Bilstein revalves for the rear. The rear needs to be softer anyway.
