Might be a stupid question, but what exactly is wheel hop? I tend to spin the tires on a hard launch and the rear end feels like it wants to come out to the side if I dont let off, but is this considered wheel hop or spin? I guess I just dont quite understand. Please enlighten me.

No that's just hanging your tail out. In wheel hop, the tire oscillates between gripping and spinning very quickly, which has a jack-hammer like effect on the whole car. Not good.
