Default Make your own relocation brackets?

Anybody tried to do this. It really does not look that hard and I plan on welding them in anyways. Basically you want to bring your control arm down about 3 inches right? I think I will try to do this tomorrow.

Go for it. I could have made some myself and I can get the materials for free but it wasnt worth the headache when UMI has some awesome brackets for 59 bucks!

I made some out of about $6 worth of steel from Lowe's hardware, and that's probably the most expensive place you can buy steel. If you have a drill press, chop saw, and MIG welder, it's cake. I painted them with POR15 paint after I welded them on.

Here what I came up with. Its not powder coated but if I wanted to I could, since I do that. Anyways it only took about 4 hours to make and bolt them on.. I have not welded them on yet but will. Took the car out for a spin and maybe notice a little different but not much at all. But I think that I need new tires anyways. Before I weld them on, is there any way to tell if they're not right. I mean not well hop is a good thing and the didn't come loose. The basic principal is to make the control arm 2 to 4 degree slope towards the front of the car correct?

Yeah the rear end of the LCA should be slightly lower than the front for the best drag race launch, but the other way around for the best rear wheel steering in road racing. If I were you, I would take them off and drill another set of holes before you weld them. Damn I wish I had done that. . .

Oh and another thing I wish I had done was weld them on so they are offset more towards the center of the car for more tire clearance.

I overlapped the RLB's rather than butt-welding them on to get a stronger joint; I just wish I had overlaped them the other direction so the LCA's were farther inboard. Something to think about if you will ever be trying to stuff huge rear tires on the car. Mine are 27x13's; that's about a 335 in metric.

150 club member means I have a time slip saying I exceeded 150 mph on the salt. You will get disqualified in this class for going 161 mph or faster. I acutally went 160.959 mph , not full throttle either. I've went 150 mph on a public highway, up a long grade and in 6th gear. The highway was an empty desert road, except for a Mitsubishi Evo that was going 140 mph as I passed it.
