add Loctite to that, they should never back out.
That they are backing out, indicates a lot of
vibration; might want to check pinion angle. And
make sure you use a torque wrench so you know
you've done what's recommended.
If you are talking about the 2 long bolts at the differential, they are 9/16 course, grade 8 I believe. An over the counter length of 8 inch is just about right. You should also have 4 hardened steel washers and 2 self locking bolts. Nylon locks are good but the best is a jam nut. One end of the nut has a rim that is slightly oval and it jams on the thread.
The problem is most hardware supply stores do not stock 8" bolts, so they are very hard to find. Also, to order them over the internet from a supply company means a minimum $. You can get them from UMI, Spohn and BMR, but they charge quite a price. I got mine from Spohn and they work realy well. They were $20 US. If you can find them at a hardware store the price would be about $5.
