The stock bolts are 14mm but I forget the thread pitch with out looking, it is most likely the standard thread pitch a hardware store would carry.

Hope that helps,
Ryan

The outside of the nut might be, but you wanted the thread size correct? You buy bolts and nuts by the thread diameter and pitch, not the wrench diameter. The thread would be a 14mm and the metric grade that is equal to grade 8 is actually 10.9.

Hope that helps,
Ryan

They have a pretty high torque spec and if you
add Loctite to that, they should never back out.
That they are backing out, indicates a lot of
vibration; might want to check pinion angle. And
make sure you use a torque wrench so you know
you've done what's recommended.

Hi
If you are talking about the 2 long bolts at the differential, they are 9/16 course, grade 8 I believe. An over the counter length of 8 inch is just about right. You should also have 4 hardened steel washers and 2 self locking bolts. Nylon locks are good but the best is a jam nut. One end of the nut has a rim that is slightly oval and it jams on the thread.

The problem is most hardware supply stores do not stock 8" bolts, so they are very hard to find. Also, to order them over the internet from a supply company means a minimum $. You can get them from UMI, Spohn and BMR, but they charge quite a price. I got mine from Spohn and they work realy well. They were $20 US. If you can find them at a hardware store the price would be about $5.
